Scholarship for Higher Education
The Diocese of Thuckalay extends its support to the students within its jurisdiction who are financially weak to qualify themselves in Under Graduate courses in St Alphonsa College of Arts and Science. The majority of these youth are firstgeneration learners in higher education. We can extend this support with the help of our benefactors and friends, especially from Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA). Forty students from our Diocese who study in our College benefitted from this scheme. A special meeting was organized on 11 March 2022 to distribute the scholarships to the students. The program was organized by Kanniyakumari Social Service Society (KKSSS). Together with the Vicar General of the Diocese, His Excellency Bishop George Rajendran SDB attended the program and encouraged the students to be ever grateful to persons who make sacrifices to donate the money and to make more efforts in their studies.
